Pagan Deities: Gaia, the Earth Mother
68Who is Gaia the Goddess?
Gaia (also sometimes spelled Gaea) is the daughter of Chaos and the mother of the earth and all the gods. She was the mother of the Titans, the sea-creatures, and the giants through various unions. Gaia was a consort to Zeus, Uranus, Pontus, and Poseidon.
She is usually depicted as a middle aged, pregnant woman. The goddess represents the mother and her role in the family. She represents a loving and nurturing mother and displays the natural bond between a mother and her children.

Pagan Worship of Gaia
Gaia is often consider amongst Pagans and Wiccans to be the Mother of all Earth, or Mother Earth. One of the best ways to connect with Gaia is through the Earth, since this is her strongest elemental connection.
The goddess is often noted as being a lusty, sexual being and can be associated with such acts.
Fertility and pregnancy are often associated with Gaia, making her a great goddess for women trying to get pregnant or whom are already pregnant.
She is a great goddess to call upon if you or your family are in need of guidance and strength. She is a very family oriented goddess, especially when it comes to children.
A great way to connect to the goddess is through the earth. She is the earth and this will allow a direct connection to her if she so wishes. Meditating outdoors, planting a garden, working in the soil; all are great ways to connect to the Earth Mother.
Recycling is also a great way to connect with Gaia. Not only will you be helping and healing the earth, but it will help you save money in some ways. Check to see if your city offers any sort of recycling program. If they don't, start small. Recycle your cans at metal shops and try to limit your family's waste and consumption.

She put it about a lot didn't she?
I bet she had a great time at parties, but what about all that giving birth business?
I do recycle as much as possible and if you saw my garden, I think you would love it, and I'm sure your chum, Gaia, would also. But I don't plant stuff, I just go out and enjoy it and it is a great little jungle.
