Inspirational Pagan and Wiccan Quotes
74Gerald Gardner
Gerald Gardner is considered the "Father of Modern Wicca". He helped lead the revival of Wicca during the 50's and 60. Here are some of his quotes:
"The Gods are real, not as persons, but as vehicles of power. Briefly, it may be explained that the personification of a particular type of cosmic power in the form of a God or Goddess, carried out by believers and worshippers over many centuries, builds that God-form or Magical Image into a potent reality on the Inner Planes, and makes it a means by which that type of cosmic power may be contacted."
"This is indeed the traditional way in which witchcraft was spread and preserved, the children of witch families were taught by their parents."
Books by Starhawk
Starhawk
Starhawk is a prolific author, lecturer, social activist, and prominent figure within the Pagan community. Her writings are centered around earth-based religions and Goddess religions.
"I am a witch, by which I mean that I am somebody who believes that the earth is sacred, and that women and women's bodies are one expression of that sacred being."
"The long sleep of Mother Goddess is ended. May She awaken in each of our hearts — Merry meet, merry part, and blessed be."
"Witchcraft offers the model of a religion of poetry, not theology. It presents metaphors, not doctrines, and leaves open the possibility of reconciliation of science and religion, of many ways of knowing."
"The God is wild, but his is the wildness of connection, not of domination. Wildness is not the same as violence. Gentleness and tenderness do not translate into wimpiness."
"Magic is another word that makes people uneasy, so I use it deliberately, because words they are comfortable with, the words that sound acceptable, rational, scientific, and intellectually sound, are comfortable precisely because they are the language of estrangement."
"Our goal is not to get out of the world or to get out of life, but to integrate it, to celebrate it, to embrace it fully, and to embrace all the different cycles within it."
"On every full moon, rituals ... take place on hilltops,
beaches, in open fields and in ordinary houses.
Writers, teachers, nurses, computer programmers,
artists, lawyers, poets, plumbers,
and auto mechanics -- women and men from many backgrounds
come together to celebrate the mysteries of the Triple Goddess of the Dance of Life.
The religion they practice is called Witchcraft."
"Through the Goddess, we can discover our strength,
enlighten our minds, own our bodies, and celebrate our emotions."

Silver RavenWolf
Ms. RavenWolf is an author and lecturer of Pagan and Wiccan topics.
"Wicca, as you practice the religion today, is a new religion, barely fifty years old. The techniques you use at present are not entirely what your elders practiced even thirty years ago. Of course, threads of 'what was' weave through the tapestry of 'what is now.' ...in no way can we replicate to perfection the precise circumstances of environment, society, culture, religion and magick a hundred years ago, or a thousand. Why would we want to? The idea is to go forward with the knowledge of the past, tempered by the tools of our own age."
Scott Cunningham
Scott Cunningham was an author specializing in Wiccan and Pagan rituals.
“Call upon the Goddess and God to protect you and teach you the secrets of magic. Ask stones and plants to reveal their powers-and listen.”

Raven Grimassi
Raven Grimassi is an author, public speaker, and prominent figure within the Wiccan community. His writings are centered around early Italian paganism and witchcraft. Here are some of his quotes:
"According to the oral tradition of Witches,
we were once the priests and priestesses of a peasant Pagan religion.
Members of this secret sect met at night beneath the full moon,
for these were the "misfits" and "outcasts" who did not fit into mainstream society.
Little has changed over the centuries and the Witchcraft community still embraces
individuals frequently rejected in mainstream society.
These include gays, lesbians, transgendered individuals,
and other people with the courage to live their lives authentically
in accord with who they are inside their hearts, minds, and spirits."
“I view Witchcraft as a religion that has evolved over the centuries. I do not consider Witchcraft to be a modern invention. Instead I deal with it in my writings as a Mystery Tradition with long roots to the past. It has always been my position that we don't need an ancient tradition in order to be validated. We just happen to have one.”

Hi, Gerald Gardner was a wise man, scientists today have discussed whether we make our own reality's including the worship of Gods and Goddesses, in other words do we make them as they are? I loved reading all the quotes, rated up! cheers nell
